Gorge Gospel Riders is commited to prayer as a foundational principle in our mission of sharing the message of Jesus Christ with the world. There are some very good reasons why we should be praying consistently both individually and as a chapter:

  •  There is no greater honor and privelege then to have an audience with the Creator of the universe. We are invited to take counsel with the One who embodies all truth and wisdom. The privilege of prayer was bought for us by the blood of Jesus Christ so that we may have entrance into the throne of grace.
  • We are in a fierce battle. The bible says that Lucifer, the great deciever, is going to and fro in the earth “seeking whom he may devour.” This means that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but spiritual powers in high places. In a battle such as this we need the help of God. Prayer arms us for this battle. Jesus Himself found it necessarry to pray. We should follow his example.
  • Prayer is a deterrent to sin in our lives. When we earnestly seek God in our prayer times, God exposes all our rationalizations and excuses for sin in our lives, which  moves us toward repentance.
  • Prayer works!! People are healed, strength is imparted, guidance is given, hearts are softened, needs are met, and it changes us.

PURPOSE
The purpose of GGR is to show the love of Jesus Christ to the motorcycling world. Gorge Gospel Riders support of the purpose of CMA is three fold:

  • Provide and encourage members to be active in testimony and Christian witnessing to all motorcyclists.
  • Provide a Christian fellowship ride group.
  • Provide an evangelistic association for motorcycling.

MISSION

  • Evangelistic outreach primarily, but not exclusively, to the motorcycle community.
  • Support Run for the Son, where we will partner with ministries with world-reaching potential.
  • Equip our members through ministry training. The ministry training will align itself with Biblical truths.
  • Model a servant’s attitude to our members as well as to those we are trying to reach (ie Here if you need us).
  • Provide quality products to our member for aid in evangelistic outreach.

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
The Chrisitian Motorcyclists Association and Gorge Gospel Riders are interdenominational and evangelistic in nature. We believe:

  • in the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God
  • in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  • in the virgin birth and deity of Christ
  • in His explicit atoning death, bodily resurrection, and ascension
  • in the sanctifiying power of the Holy Spirit who enables a believer to live holy
  • and in the second coming of Jesus Christ

Run for the Son 2010

Today 6/17/2010 Sue & I watched the live feed at the National Rally in Hatfield. John Ogden Sr did the recognition & awards presentations for RFS 2010. To start us off we need to get the Lord in our hearts for next years RFS, because after hearing what these chapters raised…we should be ashamed, we are all guilty of it.
When they recognized the top 10 chapters and the amounts that they raised was unbelievable. The lowest chapter hit $20,740 and the highest hit $57,318 for a total of $294,169.
John Ogden recognized the top 10 individuals, the lowest hit $8500 and the highest hit $27,500 for a total of $148,815, just to let everyone know that Mark kemper (OR) was the one to hit $27,500. Now for the grand total, CMA hit $3,625,809 we missed last years total by $133,932. For next year lets pray hard and true to commit and produce a true blessing for God and RFS.
I will be covering more details on RFS 2011

Thank you
God Bless

Washington State Rally, a time of reflection

The Washington State Rally was this past weeked, June 11th – 13th. We had a great time of fellowship, but we also had a time of reflection and prayer. Each member of the chapter that was there was prayed over by a member of another chapter. After that occurred, it seemed God was convicting us about the lack of prayer within the chapter. As a result you are going to begin to see some new things. I would encourage all members to pray together. I know we are spread out, but we all have phones. If God puts someone on your heart then call them and pray with them over the phone. When you start your day, start in prayer. But don’t stop there. Keep praying thorughout the day and pray when your day ends. When you go out to do something, pray before you go. If you are talking to someone, even they are not a Christian, ask them if you can pray for them. These are some of the things you are going to start seeing within the chapter. We want to be where God wants us, not where we want us, and all too often those are two seperate places.

New Devotional

Pastor Dan has posted a new devotional for us to use in our personal study times. Please take the time to read it, contemplate it in light of Gods word, and see how it might apply in your own life.

If God remains in control of us, and we use what we have to use, the gates of hell shall not, can not, prevail against us.
